At Ultimate Solar Care, we are proud to help Melbourne homeowners get the best performance out of their solar energy systems, no matter the height or complexity of the job. One of our most recent projects involved a double-storey solar panel cleaning on a tin roof, and the results were outstanding.
The Challenge: Height, Access & Safety
Double-storey homes come with added challenges, especially when it comes to accessing the roof. In this case, the property had a metal (tin) roof, which can be slippery and hazardous without the right safety procedures. Our team came fully equipped with:
- Proper height safety gear
- Harness systems and access ladders
- Soft-bristled, solar-safe cleaning equipment
- Eco-friendly, non-corrosive cleaning solutions
We took every precaution to ensure not only the safety of our team but also the integrity of the homeowner’s solar panels and roof surface.
The Process: Thorough & Professional
Once access was safely secured, our solar technicians got to work:
- Inspected each panel for damage or wear
- Removed dirt, grime, bird droppings, and environmental build-up
- Gently washed the panels using purified water to avoid leaving any residue
- Ensured no scratches or marks were left behind on the surface
The cleaning not only improved the visual appearance of the panels but also restored them to optimal energy production efficiency, a win for both the environment and the homeowner’s electricity bills.
Why Cleaning Matters – Especially for Multi-Storey Homes
Many homeowners assume rain alone is enough to keep panels clean. But on double-storey buildings, dirt often accumulates more rapidly due to wind exposure and environmental factors. Over time, this build-up can reduce panel efficiency by up to 20–30%, resulting in lost savings and performance.
Happy Customer
Our client was thrilled with the results—not only could they visibly see the difference, but they were also glad to know their system was performing at its best heading into the sunnier months.
At Ultimate Solar Care, we understand the unique needs of Melbourne homes and offer tailored cleaning solutions, no matter the roof type or height.
